2 weeks plus more and I will be returning to Singapore. Daryl and I are not able to continue doing the introduction video for the company currently because we are still awaiting informations from our Manager. I wonder if there is time to complete the video. Well, the weather here is sometimes warm, sometimes abit cooler. Some places of China were flooded, but fortunately my area isn’t affected. Daryl, Kelvin, Dexter and I have been eating out for dinner for the past 4 days (Mon to Thurs), the same eatery and the same dishes, having fried Pig Stomach, fried 3-layer Pork, Spicy and Sour Potato Slices, Mince Meat with Brinjal, and fried Onion Egg. Hahaha, we will be setting a new record if we were to dine at that eatery again (each person pay around 20 RMB (4SGD) per meal). Lol.
Hmm… Went to Suzhou last weekend on Friday night, 13/07/2007, after work. We reached the train station at around 2100, and came across a person who is asking if we need a car (comes with a fee for sure) for transportation (although there are always many people camping at train stations asking if we need a car or accommodation). We agreed to take his car and he arranged for us a hotel to stay. We will be renting his van for the rest of our trip too to save time travelling around. Our hotel is located at a city-like place whereby there are a few shopping centers around just like Tampinese. We all went down to have a stroll after settling down at the hotel rooms and stumbled across a movie theatre (looks like an old-time cinema). They are showing Transformers there! Haha, so all of us went to buy our tickets for the next night (Saturday night) at 2210.

We had KFC for supper and went to a small club (in a shophouse) called “Scarlet” later. Man, all of us were caught unprepared, as initially Luo Xue (who is already at Suzhou) was not coming to find us, so we ate KFC thinking we will be heading back to hotel to sleep after meal. But she came eventually and we didn’t have time to prepare and change into more presentable clothes, hence we went to club in Cargo shorts and T-shirts. Lol, first time experience. Luckily we are able to enter with our attire as the club is not strict. Guys are to pay 30 RMB (6SGD) for entrance and free entries for ladies. We ordered 1 bottle of Absolute Vodka and a few cans of Sprite to go along with. Went to the dance floor after having around a few cups of Vodka Sprite. The atmosphere and ambience is not really there though, not as fun and high as ShangHai but still can make it. We clubbed till around 0300 and went back. Thanks Luo Xue for helping me back xD.These are a few blurry pics taken by my N80 camera.
Went to Suzhou Le Yuan (Suzhou Theme Park) on Saturday, 14/07/2007. Some of us are still feeling abit groggy after last night's club. I didn't have much appetite after vomitting too much yesterday (Friday night at the club) so I had light breakfast only. I have always been afraid to take thrilling rides since young but I tried a few thrilling rides there like Roller Coaster, and for the first time, the Space Shot thingy whereby you will be shot high up suddenly. I also tried something new which is gliding through the air from higher ground to lower ground with you holding on to a bar attached to a kite. It was a nice experience. We also took the more relaxing rides like Bumper Car, Merry-Go-Round, boat taking you throught a small world.
"It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small small world!"

Groggy and tired~

Haha. We left the theme park at around 1700 and went to have dinner with Matthew's father (his father came on a business trip) and his colleague at a restaurant near our hotel. After that, we went for a short stroll around the area. There were many shops, roadside stalls and many lighted up buildings. The night life seems kinda busy here.

Transformers time! We found our seats just in time and then the show started. OMG, THE SHOW IS IN CHINESE!!! We were fooled by the ticket-seller that the show is in english with chinese subtitles. The whole show is actually chinese-dubbed and no subtitles, Lol, but we stayed and watch finish the movie. Luckily I'm able to understand what Sam Witwicky, Megatron, Optimus Prime and gang were saying xD. The movie is so damn good, Barricade is soooooo cool, I'm lovin' it! The transformations were detailed, good storyline, many exciting moments, I will rate it 4.5/5 man. If anyone haven't catch the show yet, go watch! haha. Anyone wanna buy for me Barricade toy? hahaha =p

Went to Suzhou Yuan Ling (Suzhou Gardens) on Sunday. I heard it is a must-visit place if you were to go to Suzhou. There were many old-time houses, bridges and ancient monuments. Suzhou is known as the Water City as it actually has 1/3 of the Tai Hu waters and is known to many famous ancient chinese people. The food here in Suzhou is said to be sweeter rather than saltier. Ah man! I finally got to taste the famous and one of my favorite dishes here, Alice you should know =p the 3-layer pork! It's called "Dong Po Rou" here. For this dish, the fats is much thicker than the meat, but the fats is just fine.

Headed back to Wuxi at around 1600 plus and by dinner time, my appetite is failing me again, maybe due to overtired. I had light dinner at a Korean restaurant only.

We will be going on a sight-seeing trip to see mountains and waterfalls this weekend!

Me and gang (Matthew didn't join us) visited ShangHai again last Saturday, 07/07/2007. Upon reaching Shang Hai, we went for lunch at Zhen Gong Fu (a fast-food restaurant like McDonalds just that all the food they sell are steamed). After lunch, we took a taxi to a shopping centre that sells computer hardware and software, just like Funan IT Mall or Sim Lim Square in Singapore. We arranged to go there because some of us, including myself, are looking for cheap/good deal portable harddisk as our tour guide for Shang Hai previously, Benjamin, said he bought a 120GB 2.5" Samsung portable harddisk for only 535 RMB (107 SGD) so we thought of getting it too since it's a good deal. But in the end, none of us bought a harddisk as the price is around 30~40 SGD cheaper compared to Singapore's price (for Samsung or Seagate harddisk) including a China warranty (useless for us as we will be going back in a month's time), and that some of us thought that it may be well better off that we pay the 30~40 SGD more for the warranty back in Singapore (safer also).

Fast train (max speed 200 plus km/h) we took

Then, we headed to our next destination, back to the place where we went to shop for cheap and nice clothes. Oh ya! that place is called Qi Pu Lu, so if any of you guys especially girls want to shop for cheap and nice clothes when you visit Shang Hai, you can go there! =] I bought a few T-shirts and singlets there. The most expensive clothes I got there cost 30RMB (6SGD) as we bargained at every store we went to.
4 of us, Daryl, Kelvin, Yeow Chuan and I went to Kun Shan to visit our colleague, Luo Xue, at her place as she is being transferred from Wuxi to there after the Shang Hai trip. She prepared steamboat for us for dinner. The rest, Chin Hong, Dexter and Ngiap Teng went back to Wuxi (head back to dorm). All of us took the same train back, but only the 4 of us alighted at Kun Shan. We reached Kun Shan at around 2000, met up with Luo Xue and her friends, Li Jian and Yang Zi, at KFC then went to book hotel for the 4 of us to stay. It was raining quite heavily there. We went to her apartment after settling our things at the hotel. On the way there, Luo Xue found out she actually lost her house keys. We went back to the hotel and to the KFC to search but only to no avail. In the end, she had to find her landlord to retrieve a new set of keys.

Hotel room (Han Ting hotel)
We finally entered her apartment at around 2200 and started to eat at around 2300. wahaha, it was a warmth moment as we got to eat home-prepared food, thanks to Luo Xue and friends, who started preparing this meal from 1500 onwards. We drank beer (me first time drinking a few cups of beer) and had steamboat at the same time. Nice Nice..

After dinner, we went back to hotel, Luo Xue came along. Now the havoc part starts.. after we bathe, we started opening drinking the 2 bottles of Absolute Vodkas we bought earlier thinking that we drink it while eating steamboat. We didn't bring it there as Luo Xue thought it wasn't a good idea as her friends are there. We mixed the vodka with Qoo orange juice as drinking pure vodka with 40% alcohol is not good. Moreover we got no ice cubes to go along with. The smell and taste was abit too much for me to take so I only drank around a cup >.<

2 bottles of Absolut Vokda we bought (empty)

Head is swirling~
The next day, all of us woke up at around 1200 plus, bathe and booked out of the hotel. We had to pay an extra 150 RMB (30 SGD) to compensate for the dirtied winter blanket, towel and stuffs. The whole room was very messy too =X ahahahah. Went for lunch at Wu Da Niang Dumpling. The dumpling is nice with the garlic+chilli+vinegar sauce. Went around the place abit and went back to Wuxi. Initially we were supposed to join the rest of the guys and PE manager, William, for buffet at a Japanese restaurant, but we didn't go in the end as all of us were kinda full, tired and it's also quite late when we reached Wuxi.

We went to Chong An Temple area to buy some DVDs and to Wuxi City for Beef Steak instead for dinner. haha, we had been to the Beef steak restaurant last Wednesday, 04/07/2007. 2 times in a week! First time I ate a 50% cooked baby calf beef steak, this time I ate the same steak, but 30% cooked! hahaha. The beef just simply melts in your mouth. mmmmmmmmm.. Headed back to dorm after meal.
*sorry, no pics of the steak as I haven't got the pic from my friend's handphone.
Going to Suzhou this weekend, but leaving tonight already! haha, because me and some guys wanna go clubbing there!
